Lorena P. Lopes is Of Counsel to the firm of Kramer Kozek LLP. She graduated from Columbia University School of Law in 1993 with a Juris Doctorate (Stone Scholar). Ms. Lopes received a Master’s Degree in Business from Columbia University’s Business School in 1990 (Dean’s List) and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Yale University (1985). Ms. Lopes was admitted to the bar of the State of New York in 1994, as well as the Southern and Eastern Federal District Courts of New York. Before attending law school, she was Vice President at the Prudential Investment Corporation working in the areas of corporate finance and securities. Post law school, Ms. Lopes was Law Clerk for the Honorable Kevin Duffy for the United States District Court, Southern District of New York and a Litigation Associate at Sullivan & Cromwell (New York, NY). Ms. Lopes moved in-house to the General Counsel’s office of SONY Music before heading the Operations Department of SONY’s Columbia Records. She then ran a marketing department for Digital Music Products as Vice President of SONY BMG Music Entertainment. After 12 years at SONY, Ms. Lopes changed careers in order to spend more time with her daughter, earning her Montessori Teacher Certification and teaching elementary and secondary students for 10 years. Ms. Lopes is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Yale Alumni Fund and is a Yale Alumni Student Mentor and Alumni Interviewer.
